What is curb Appeal?

Why should I invest in curb appeal?

Curb appeal refers to the level of attractiveness one may feel for a property when viewing it from the street. In its simplest form, however, curb appeal is a subjective appreciation for a physical asset. Homes with great curb appeal, for example, are attractive to those viewing them from the street. The house presents itself well and all of the typical components are in place: the yard is well-kept, the paint is vibrant, the siding looks good, the roof is intact, and things are in order.

Why is curb appeal so important?  

Let’s face it, first impressions matter. We care about how we dress for a job interview, and we spent extra time in front of the mirror before that first date. When it comes to selling a home, first impressions matter, too.

That first impression aka Adding curb appeal is a great way to increase the resale value of your home. Estimates vary, but in the Raleigh area, for example, several real estate agents have often see exterior improvement and landscaping return on investment (ROI) start at 150% — and often exceed that.
